"Our "Perfect or ideal" Residential Pool System"

Is there such thing as "a PERFECT pool system setup? We think so! While certain situations may call for some kind of variation, we do have a preferred standard system that has a long proven track record of exceptional performance, reliability, energy efficiency, serviceability and a low rate of issues or failures for residential and smaller commercial systems.

Learn more about this pump

Pumps

While there are many manufacturers of pumps. Our current standard is the Pentair 3HP Intelliflo VS+SVRS model pump. This is a commercial grade pump that works well in residential AND commercial applications

Energy Efficiency in a small footprint

8 available timer settings, allowing flexibility of run time, run speed, flow rate, allowing programming of hi speed during off peak hours, and run at a lower speed during those peak hours. Pump has a smaller footprint than the new bluetooth enabled pentair pumps and a screen right on it for easy control and programming

Real Results

Requires 230v electrical feed. Pump has SVRS built in, which stops the pump in the event of entrapment or hair entanglement in skimmers or main drains and shuts down immediately. It resets on its own after a  set time frame. Virginia Baker Act Compliant. 2" plumbing ready, and PLENTY of power for most applications.

Pool Filters

We prefer Pentair top mount sand filters. They are the best all around filter systems for several reasons. Sand filters offer a flexible means of filtration. They only need media replaced every 3-5 years. They are compatible with Silica Sand as well as Activated Glass Media for even finer filtration. They are also able to be backwashed easily on site, which is a simple cleaning of the media bed that also contributes to dilution in your pool which is an important facet of your overall operating strategy. Water should constantly be getting removed and replaced, which backwashing helps accomplish. They require the least amount of, and most cost effective maintenance of all filter options.

The fit

Sand filters come in a variety of sizes. Additionally filters can be run "in parallel" where multiple filters work together to provide more filtration area. Top mount designs keep plumbing out of the way, and allow easy access for backwash, as well as connections to and from our recommended pump and heater.

Sand filters are the gold standard of pool filtration. They offer easy weekly maintenance. Media replacement every 3-5 years. Few moving parts to break or service and a high quality level of filtration for sparkling pools under a variety of load conditions.

The Functionality

Multiports offer a variety of functionality over simple slide valve. They allow extra functions such as "closed"; "recirculate (bypass)" and "rinse" and "winterize" features for additional functionality beyond basic "filter" and "backwash" cycles.

Heaters

The best way to prolong the seasonal use of your swimming pool

Versitle

There are still Raypak atmospheric heaters  in service from the 70's. They are durable, reliable, and simple but brilliantly designed systems. They are available for both natural gas and liquid propane configurations. They come in multiple sizes for pools up to about 35k-40k gallons. They are suitable for indoor, outdoor, even high wind installations. The have hi altitude available models (needed in Denver and surrounding), they provide adjustable gas valves for pressure adjustment and the practically self diagnose themselves when there's an issue! The parts are readily available and usually in stock

Why Doesn't EVERYONE use them?!

Many of the new heater designs are a smaller footprint, made of plastic and have a different burner design and consequently MUCH LIGHTER. This makes them easier for a single tech to unload, carry and install. However this is a trade off. The smaller units use a fan induced burner in an enclosed combustion chamber across the water coils. The burner doesn't allow pressure adjustment without the possibility of making the flame to rich or leaning out flame too much and damaging the combustion chamber. They also create a lot of condensation in the exhaust duct which falls down through sulfur dioxide from burning NG and creates sulfuric acid. This drops back down into the sealed combustion chamber and destroys your copper heat exchanger faster until it leaks and is ruined. They also have a number of additional electronic sensors and systems, such as the fan for the combustion, and the AFS which tend to be additional points of failure the Raypak atmospheric heaters avoid.

Durable

The raypak heater has been upgraded in multiple ways over the years for some of the best base heater features on the market. Their heater coils have been upgraded from standard copper to Cupro Nickel internals. Next they have added "Pro-Tek Shield". This is an electrically grounded zinc sacrificial anode which is beneficial, in that it becomes a "victim" of corrosion before copper or nickle, and is replaceable, saving your heaters internals for years from the results of electrolysis and or corrosion. ESPECIALLY with salt water pools which are commonly affected by the electrolysis and galvanic corrosion of heater internals  because of the salt cell.

Plumbing

The most overlooked part of your pool system!

Quality First

There are several reasons we only use positive sealing valves on your plumbing where we can. #1 these valves are made of a quality durable CPVC. Consistent and long lasting. #2 The valve internals are fully replaceable without needing to cut out or replumb the fitting, making replacement quick, easy and cost efficient over the long term.

Expert Care

Positive sealing valves are far more reliable than standard PVC ball valves, especially as isolation valves in pool plumbing. The have a large face and sealing surface. They are also listed as "Maintenance Free" and don't require lubrication to continue to operate smoothly over time. Additionally, they have little ridges as you open or close the valve, making the control very precise and controlled, so no external tools are needed to change valve positions over time.

Real Results

All components of your plumbing system are designed for your specific application. Plumbing design is built to minimize the amount of total head and friction added to any given system. Valves, check valves and flow meters are built to function under the harshest conditions as well as prevent any un necessary restrictions, and provide easily serviceable long lasting plumbing that will allow for the best flow for your system.
